From the lifeguards at the beach who picked up my towel when it had fallen on the ground and kept an eye out for a better placed lounger to become available so I wouldn't get burned, to the housekeepers, bar staff, doorman and front desk staff, everyone was incredibly charming, thoughtful and polite.
I had a wonderful stay here in the summer and didn't want to leave!
The setting is of course beautiful, very well maintained grounds and building.
The only downside I can think of was the occasional vulgar behaviour of a minority of the other guests, but that can't be helped by the hotel themselves, who don't get to chose their clientele!
Definitely worth booking if you're searching for that old-world italia/belle epoque 5-star experience.

To reply to your comments: first I don’t have anything against the staff in the restaurant or bar of the hotel. I have an issue against the management of this hotel. When we raised our concerns, the management said that it’s because we are stressed. Same as you replied. Let me be clear, being treated in a special way on such a special day is the minimum you should have done. Managing an hotel is putting the customer experience first, which you obviously don’t do. Instead you are blaming the client… and one of your manager at the reception when I ask the key of my room after 4 days at the hotel, that is telling me: ‘why? You are not staying here’ was the cherry on the cake.
